Session 1

Answers to Anger

Almost everyone has had to deal with anger, either personally or with someone they love.  Anger can attack at any moment. It can be instigated by a stubbed toe or a traffic jam. Yet anger usually results in pain for yourself and for others. God has an answer for anger.

Session 2

Stress & Burnout

When are bodies are in a constant state of "fight or flight" it will lead to burnout.  We can't handle it long term. "Stress is not an influence in the world, but a reaction in the body...it's a response. The source is not the stressor. Stress comes from within, not from without" Dr. Wright has some answers for those dealing with stress.

Session 3

Winning over Worry & Fear

Worrying can be a very detrimental part of our lives because there are no limits or boundaries when it comes to worry.  It can consume us and fill every waking hour.  So how can we win against such a force?  Look for answers is this very practical session.

Session 4

Trauma & Extreme Crisis

Trauma has tell-tale signs. However, just as doctors are the only people qualified to care for emergency medicine, so too, when people go through trauma we should act as the "ambulance" to professionals counselors.  Dr. Wright will present you with the signs fo trauma, it is then up to us to bring those who have gone through trauma to the proper care.

Death & Grief - Part 1

Death and grief go hand in hand.  At one or another it touches all of us. Dr. Wright opens this two-part session by sharing some very personal stories from his life and others he has counseled. He will present a working definition of dealing with death and introduce the phases of grieving.

Session 6

Death & Grief - Part 2

In part two of Death & Grief we will learn the path that giref takes.  There are no shortcuts, our heart and mind needs to follow that path to bring healing and restoration.  Learn how to cope with grief and support others that are struggling.

Session 7

Marriage in Crisis

Statistics show that nearly half of all marriages will end in divorce.  Many more are struggling with little hope that their relationship will get better.  Most see a counselor as a last resort.  However, before they visit the professional, your firends, neighbors, and family members will probably seek your advice. Are you ready to help them?

Session 8

The Crisis of Divorce

Divorce: A volatile and tough subject. Dr. Wright uncovers the mystery and myths surrounding divorce. As you watch the video and interact with the workbook, jot down ways to minister to people who are dealing with a divorce.  While God hates divorce, He loves His people, and we need to learn practical ways to love our family, friends, and neighbors who are experiencing such pain.

Basics of Caregiving

These principles will greatly enhance your ministry toolbox.  Take time to see how you can increase your effectiveness in giving care to those loved ones and church members around you.

Session 10

Children in Crisis

Children experience and handle grief and loss in a much different way than adults. Too often we either hide children from death and great loss, or expect their recovery time will be quick.  Dr. Wright will show us the very real grief children experience and instructs us on how to care for them.

Session 11

Transitions of life

Each stage of life carries its own set of struggles and pain. Listen as Dr. Wright aptly underscores the common transitions people experience. Think of how you might respond, or have responded, in each stage.  Positive or negative? How can you reduce stress as you pass through each transition of life?

Session 12

Case studies part 1 & 2

Sit in on these very real case studies and determine how you might handle each of the scenarios.  Practice what you have learned from the study and role play with the group members.  Determine now to live a victorious life in Christ and to be a light to others that need a helping hand and a listening ear in times of crisis.
