Session 1

Looking Through God's Periscope

Are you living your life with an "eternal perspective"? It is all too clear that many in our society, including Christians, live for themselves with very little thought of God's view of things. This self-centered worldview is holding an entire generation captive and pulled many away from their Christian faith. This first session will help us begin the journey to look at the world through God's periscope.

Session 2

Seeking the Source of Deception

Is the devil real? It is his great desire that we look at him as just a comic figure with a pitch fork made up to scare children. Bottom Line: Satan is real! We do have an enemy who is out to destroy us in any way possible. He will use money, power, sex, people, pleasure, literally anything that will distract and deter us from focusing on God and His plan for our lives. Even seemingly "good" things can be nothing but a tool to blind us from an eternal perspective and God's purpose for our life.

Session 3

The Danger of False Views

"TRUTH", everyone seems to have their view of what truth really is. Many believe, including Christians, that truth is relative, changes with the times, and is not absolute. God may have set down some rules but they are more like "guidelines" than solid, ironclad, immutable laws that are the same yesterday, today and forever. False views like these permeate our culture, and yes, many of our churches. Pluralism, naturalism, mysticism and many other philosophies have watered down God's truth. Can we stop this trend?

Session 4

The Danger of False Living

Proverbs 29:18 says "Where there is no vision, the people perish." When Christians lose sight of the truth of God they fall. Moral aimlessnes, materialism, drug and alcohol abuse, and sexual promisuity are common place in our culture. This same type of moral collapse has also invaded our churches as truth is compromised and people are left to determine "what seems best in their own eyes". This session helps us see past the empty pleasures of this life to an upward view that brings total fulfillment.

Session 5

Embracing a True Vision

FACT: Just 4% of young believers hold a Biblical worldview. Views concerning abortion, sex outside of marriage, homosexuality, creation, and even the person of Jesus Christ are distorted and have drifted far from the clear truths of Scripture. Can the future leaders of the Church be called back to embrace the very foundations of the faith? Or is it too late? This session helps us to see that there is a way and calls us to uncompromising determination to embrace truth and be a loving example of Christ to those around us.

Session 6

Renewing in the Truth

Counterfeits are recognized by knowing what the real thing looks like. The same is true of belief systems. We recognize false views when we know the Word of God and live it out in our own lives. Problem: Few believers, of any age, embrace the truth enough to live it out consistently and fewer still have the capacity to share that faith in a meaningful way. Result: Weak believers, for the most part Biblically illiterate, easily deceived by the next bright light. Discernment, biblical understanding, and clarity of God's perspective are essential in every believers life.

Session 7

Seeing Above - Living Beyond

In this final session participants will be asked what they can do to make an eternal difference in the lives of others. Is it by material gain, having a great body, or getting the most Twitter and Facebook followers and friends? Maybe, just maybe, it's by rising above the cultural norms of this age and seeing the world from a differnet vantage point. Maybe it's living a life that is beyond our own ability. One that is based on Biblical truth and strengthened by the Holy Spirit. Only by seeing above and living beyond will we ever experience true joy and peace.
