Measure of a Man Part 2 With Gene A. Getz
Session I

Overcoming Violence

VIOLENCE! We live in a society that is filled with violence.  It seems that not a day goes by without headline news about the tragedies caused by anger and violence.  How should men of God respond when faced with difficult and challenging situations?
Session II

A Hospitable Man (A Cup of Cold Water)

God outlined for the children of Israel to help people other than themselves. Men of God are quick to open their hearts and homes to encourage others.  When was the last time you have invited anyone to your home for a meal other than family or close friends?
Session III

Overcoming Self-Centeredness

Men often feel the pressure to be the biggest, fastest, strongest, smartest. We are in a "look at me" world. Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and other social media outlets feed on our need to promote ourselves and be in the spotlight. God calls us to deny ourselves and follow Him.  How do we do that?
Session IV

Able to Teach

Teaching is more than just words, it's a life of service, humility, and honor to God. Men of God set a reference point from which their children and others map out the world. Are you able to give a defense of the faith you hold?
Session V

A Temperate Man (Maintaining Balance)

Balance is the key to a healthy and happy lifestyle in many ways.  Physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally men ned to be balanced.  What steps are you taking to keep your balance in each of those areas? What is your focus, your primary purpose?
Session VI

A Respectable Man

Is it possible for a man to be a Christian and not be respectable? Good question.  How do you treat others? Do your wife and children feel like you treat them fairly and with honor? Does the fruit of the Spirit reflect in your personality?  Dr. Getz describes the life of a respectable man.
Session VII

A Loving and Kind Man (Blessed is the Peacemaker)

We sometimes cover up our insecurities by trying to control everyone else.  Much can be told about a man by watching how he treats others, especially his own family.  Peace isn't just an absense of violence, it's an active force brought in by loving and kind acts.
Session VIII

A Just Man (Being Just and Fair)

Being a just and fair man means you are just and fair with your wife, children, employees, neighbors, partners ... everyone! Men often feel like all is fair in this "dog eat dog" world we live in.  The temptation to get the other guy before he gets you is strong and only true men of God can resist it.  Learn the depths of a just God and how to model his heart in our relationships.
Session IX

A Devout Man

Men of God are not afraid to openly worship their Lord and Savior.  They pray, sing and can often be seen in study of the Bible.  Our life is a reflection of our closeness to God.  Stay close to God's word, so you can stay close to His heart.
